Are you sure there's enough room for the socket to sleeve over that nut impact socket would have a thick wall ?

To be honest no. But got access to a lathe so if required i can soon turn the outside down abit.

Its ordered now anyway along with a 10mm cranked ring spanner as couldnt think of anything else i wanted. Picked and packed awaiting dispatch according to their email this morning.

Im being thick but why can't you get at the nut enough to hold it then open and close the grab to undo it?

Clever arse:p. Yes i could do that but to do both sides and tighten them back up plus fudging around with a machine (i dont have one in yard with matbro brackets) I'll have wasted an hour which will pay for a socket. Times money.

This one is 85mm if I remember correctly, had 10 foot of pipe over the one inch power bar and she held. Half an hour's work to make it.

They are a great place to deal with, and quick delivery too, i ran up to order a welder, about half an hour after cut off for next day delivery, she didn't think they had it in stock and would get more the following week, it arrived next morning at breakfast time

I've done one of them for a P/H aswell, had a new nut as a template! I cheated a bit after and stuck it in the lathe to take the edges off and drill a hole in the centre to take an old bolt I found that woukd then take a 41mm socket!!!

How stupid am i! Never even gave vap a thought i forget they do spanners and sockets etc and i got account with them:facepalm:

I know you have an account mentioned it on here several times! The set was on offer a year or so back on one of the reps flyers, I got one then. Never used yet for intended purpose, but good for pushing seals and suspension bushes in with.
