late drilling in wet conditions: what drill to use?

presently using vaderstat system disc on min till & ploughed pressed land which always works fine until we have to wait for BG to flush then its usually too wet for the drill to work.
in this part of lincolnshire everybody has waited for the BG and now not many have drilled much, now that the BG is emerged its too wet to drill

Low disturbance tine drill OR in order to get a decent seedbed which is important in my view with later drilling (just in case the weather turns after you've sown it) a combination. Sure others will disagree.

combi if it needs a bit more working down, if its fine enough but wet underneath and dont want to bring any clarty soil up horsch co4. either way will get tyre pressure down to a minimum and seed to field.

Kverneland Tineseeder, damn near impossible to block a coulter on one, don't think I have ever and I've used it in some real snotty conditions. seed placement can be a bit hit and miss in rougher going but at least you can get the seed roughly where it is needed and covered over with an aggressive harrowing tine

surely the most important thing now you have a chit killed is to not disturb the soil ? is a rapid really a good idea even if it would travel ?

low disturbance disc drill would be my choice like a 750, weaving big discs etc

if things are really wet and you just want seed in the ground then broadcast and harrow in (best result in the TFF drill trial I ran a few years ago) or a carrier type drill as above

We always turn to our 4m Andy Guest combi when the going gets wet. The vaderstad drill is great when the going is good. Used nothing but the rapid so far this season and gone well but today it's let me down. Just a little bit damper than when we were on 10 days ago and maize roots won't pass through. Don't expect they'll go through the combi too well tomorrow but let the coulter pressure off on a good rear harrow will help and at least we'll keep moving. After a good few years of persevering with the rapid only to be beaten by the later drilling I think I'm up for a change. Horsch sprinter maybe? How do users rate them for drilling later into the season? Don't think much will beat the rapid early on, just the trouble is everyone wants to go later.

we run a co4, great when its wet, can use it as a cultivator to pull headland up. will not work the soil like a vady, but starting see a few with leveling boards on

I must admit I thought the same until last year, we had a field ready to drill, been sprayed off 3 or 4 days had a quick run with the ph kady corner but decided not to drill and wait till spring. Come spring a bit but not much but a bit more BG in the unworked bit. I have pictures on a old phone but very hard to tell from the photo but would say 50-75% less.

Used to use the vad in horrendous conditions. So long as you could pull it down the field I'd go with it.
Sometimes meant drilling every other or third Bout to allow a gentle headland turn for the crawler to grip. They will run in wetter land than people think but unwilling to try
