Sometimes you don’t need to change the whole unit you can just change the tube to LED keeping the cost down. We stock replacement tubes. You can compare prices here. Look for the T8 tubes.

The only trouble with the one in the photo is that it is only ip20 rated. I see yours are ip67 rated I will get registered on the site and compare prices for the next lot of electric work we are doing

The IP67 are the Tube lights, you can hose these and are great for pigs, chickens and parlours. They are not the T8 replacements for fluorescents. If you look for the Led T8 Tube Light Fluorescent Tubes along from the tube lights. https://www.luxum.co.uk/Specialist-...ube-Light-Fluorescent-Replacement-farm-lights. let us know if you have any questions.

Do you have to modify the florescent fitting (ie remove the choke and starter) to use replacement led tubes?
If you have a fitting with a Magnetic Ballast you only have to replace the tube and the starter. If they are newer (electronic) there is a small change to the wiring. We would advise you consult an electrician to determine which is suitable.

Altering wiring is straight forward. Id remove the ballast whatever as its just wasting energy.
I put an 8ft led tube in an old fitting in kitchen. A fair bit heavier than a glass tube but it hangs in ok.
If it was a more modern fitting with light plastic tombstones i suspect it would have dropped out by now..

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
