Let jobless pick fruit

Some people may not want to work, they are in the minority and those who are unemployed should not all be classed as idle scroungers (unless you subscribe to the Daily Mail).
What is the difference between those claiming benefit illegally and those that fraudulently claim private expenses against the business, both are illegal and both reduce the amount of tax available to the exchequer. The difference would appear to be that the perpetrators of the frauds are at different ends of the socio-economic scale, those claiming benefits are seen as lowly idle workers and should all be flogged for not having gainful employment, while those evading tax are salt of the earth and self employed who believe tax evasion is acceptable.

I came across an article recently noting that in America the revenue is trying to computerise the auditing of tax returns. Unfortunately it appears that it works better for the less complicated affairs of the less well off, the wealthy, however, tend to have more involved finances which computers can't cope with, thus leaving it to laborious human auditing, which is exactly what the IRS is trying to avoid. One doesn't need to be a genius to see who is going to escape paying their fair dues.

It's not just low paid work that folks aren't interested in.
A dentist must be among the top earners in the UK, yet how many have had to be drafted in from foreign lands ?

Aren't you mixing the two ? A job pays the job not benefits .. that's the whole point.
