I have done this to my last two.
Fill in new details on V5, theres a bit about changing tax class, I also had to take 4 photos of truck, if its out of test then you have to fill in an exemption of MOT form(V112 maybe?), also if its got current licence that has to be returned too. send the lot to DVLA and they will send it back in no time.
Maximum distance of 1.5km between parcels of land you farm, which actually means the road journey could be longer, as long as it measures 1.5km on the map, and a max of 6miles a week, the interesting thing is that you could end up quite a way from base as long as you go from parcel to parcel of land you farm in 1.5km jumps, getting home of course could be tricky if you use up your 6miles!!
Truck has to be kept "roadworthy" which means to at least roadworthy tractor standard, lights, tyres, and brakes reasonable, and insured as a limited use vehicle.
Red diesel can be used. Obviously you cant drive it anywhere to fill up, or to garage to be repaired.
Phone them up, the DVLA were dead helpful to me the last time.

DVLA are on go slow at the moment and things are taking up to 8 weeks apparently. Make sure you have proof of postage for the forms. The post below is what you need to do.

I think the vehicle may have to have a valid mot at the time of changing it over (probably to prove road worthy condition) but i may be wrong. I guess this would stop any old heap being dragged out of the nettles and put to use.

There is no requirement to keep under 6 miles per week for limited use if it has an mot or is exempt
The 6 miles per week rule is actually for a vehicle that would normally require one but doesn't have one
It should be at mot standard to be on the road so if you can get mot it saves a lot of grief should the worst happen . If you don't get it mot,d keep written records of servicing and checks

No, definitely not, the two Ive had on limited use both were out of MOT when I did the paperwork.
The definition of roadworthy is very grey though. Not sure that is good or bad, I've been told the coppers wont bother you as they can't make anything stick, though I wouldnt risk it with the police presence round here.
