post on here, saying the difference between pasturised, and same homogenised, the first being 'good' cholesterol, the latter being 'bad', cause the fat globules are smashed up. News like this, and the health benefits of milk, are just not promoted, 'Experts' from GP doctors, upwards, give the impression, that dairy products will kill you. Until that can be changed, nothing else will alter. The question is, how can we get the message out ?

Rubbish. The 'professional' information on the Dairy Council site is actively marketed at healthcare and fitness professionals - Doctors, dieticians, midwives, personal trainers etc, they also run professional conferences and training events.

The Dairy Council is funded by AHDB Dairy and Dairy UK and it also co-ordinates professional research on dairy related dietary issues. 'Proper' dieticians are fully aware of the value of dairy in the diet and its importance at different life stages. A lot of serious sports performers are also well aware of the particular attributes of dairy and its role in sports nutrition. The main problem is the media (social and conventional) where well researched science based articles are not differentiated from some vegan or wellness freak who pretends they know what they are talking about.

Anyone can request some of the publications from the site if they are going to talk to schools etc - I have used many in the past.

So do it.

How many of you get involved with Farmhouse Breakfast Week? Go into schools, or a nursing home, invite the local press, there are loads of resources available to help you
Do something with your MP? Local councillors?

Although run by AHDB Cereals, so things like sausages sometimes make an appearance, milk usually features pretty heavily somewhere.

you all pay our levy and moan about it but never take any notice of how it is spent or actually use the resources that are available to help you market your product. Look at farmers like Abi Reader and her Cows on Tour - this is all the sort of stuff they use. I man a stand at an Education Day at Peterborough Showground every year and 6000 kids visit the site with their teachers and teachers assistants. I appreciate Peterborough is not the centre of the dairying universe but have I ever managed to get another dairy farmer to help me? NO

UK's total dairy consumption change would be interesting. How much extra in ready meals yoghurts etc.
I would say that like beef instead of roasts people are eating processed meat so milk is going the same way but what gets me if all this milk is being dried into powders why ate there scc limits
