Three local artists from the south of England have submitted their work to feature in Lister Wilder’s 2020 calendar. A selection of the images featured will then be auctioned off as a special first edition, signed print or in the case of Gail Davis, an original oil painting, to raise funds for charity of choice, The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (R.A.B.I).
‘Celebrating the British Countryside’ was the theme for this year’s calendar and all three artists were tasked to interpret this via their own medium; ranging from watercolour, oil to linocut.
Thanks to the Artists’ fabulous, fun interpretation, not only will customers enjoy a calendar with fresh perspectives all year round, but they can also invest in a piece of artwork for themselves or as a Christmas present for a loved one whilst raising funds for an excellent cause.
‘Like other companies, the Lister Wilder calendar has been something of a tradition in the run up to Christmas. This year we wanted to move it forward and make a difference in all respects. Celebrating the British countryside sits at the heart of our business and working with local talent to create something bigger and better for us all remains high on our agenda. Likewise, giving back to those who need it most, especially at the time of year,’ explains Ian Nutt, Lister Wilder Managing Director.
‘We’re delighted that Lister Wilder chose us to be their preferred charity of choice in this exciting and new fundraising initiative. They’ve raised funds for R.A.B.I at several events they’ve attended across the year and it’s great to see us end 2019 with something we’ve never done before. On behalf of the charity, and our local community, we’re hoping it will be a great success,’ says Richard Gore, Berkshire R.A.B.I Chairman.
‘I was honoured to be invited to take part in such a unique fundraising initiative for both a local business and national charity that a good friend talks very highly of. It’s also a great exercise for me to publicise my work locally as well as pave the way for a national stage,’ says Gail Davis, Berkshire-based Artist.
Auction goes live on Sunday, December 1. To bid on a piece of artwork, go to www.jumblebee.co.uk/listerwilder
