I also am wanting to install a lambing camera and liked the report of the Hikvision camera, just followed the link and attempted to buy one. They can't sell direct only to the trade. Now I have to start the search for an installer!!!

I bought mine from spycameracctv. You need to create an account to be able to view Hikvision prices.

It's quite straightforwards to install apart from fitting the plugs onto the ends of the Cat5 cable, which is incredibly fiddly. It's well worth spending a bit extra on the pass-through connectors and a good crimping tool.

Anybody here using livestock cameras that are 3G/4g instead of WiFi.? We’re not set up at the moment for WiFi in the cattle sheds and seen that you can get 3/4g cameras. Just wondering what they’d cost to run with using data etc.?
Depends how often you log on to the camera. We tend to use ours at the start and end of lambing once we’re up and running someone is there all the time. Probably costs around £30 for 5 weeks
