Hi,i am looking for someone to share farm a livestock enterprise with. Based in East Sussex I have a livestock shed of 5,000 sq foot with 80 acres of grass. I run an arable farm and contracting business so don't have time for a livestock enterprise. Pm me for more information
This sounds a great opportunity I wish you were in Yorkshire!

Is anyone already doing this sort of arrangement on a livestock enterprise and have an outline of a contract?
I was involved in one, but the contract was very over complicated IMO wrote by an agent that caused both parties more grief than needed.

6months in to something similar. Observations so far- Keep it simple. No 2 agreements are the same and keep a minute/record of formal meetings.

We looked at a share farming opportunity on similar acreage for son and the agent's advice was to complicated on such a scale and livestock not work as well as arable. The advice was just rent land which we do.

I find myself in a similar position to the op. We have two separate farms not far apart. I am torn at the moment of whether to employ someone, offer a share farm opportunity or just let it out. Tbh, as the owner, letting it out seems the least likely. Also, on the other side of the fence, I assume you would need far more of your own capital to rent, rather than share farm?

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
