is there a special spanner to remove /fit the starter nuts its a perkins tier one diesel engine nightmare to get spanner or socket on them especially one near block machine needed to feed cattle

15mm crows foot on 3/8 socket set is really helpful normally.

And if you replace starter with a better one not the piece of crap lucas m50 type it will go back in alot easier as it's smaller bodies.

I can supply starter if you want.

Back in the day when the stud was 3/8 which gives a you a nut of 9/16. Now you need special nuts, that's progress for you.

They can be very useful though, for nuts or bolts that are tight on clearance to get a ring spanner on you can replace with a flanged nut and bolt and use a smaller spanner. Also can do away with washers as flanged nuts and bolts come with either smooth face or locking faces.
