That would be interesting to see .......

We bought new train carriages last year .......................
Came in to Belfast port, but it being Ireland had to be shipped by Road to Dublin to be put on the tracks. And the railway line beside the docks in Belfast.
Lovely bit of kit transporting the new carriages ..............
Fantastic low loaders .........
I follow Allelys on Facebook, they do a lot of train moving, apart from some of the classics, why don't they just drive them?

I'm assuming the heavy hauler has hitched a lift as it's a bit sore on juice long distance or just isn't very fast? Maybe trains are the same?

No idea, apparently the new trains had to be commissioned in Dublin. But I cant see why they didn't let them run late night, the lines are empty here after 12 midnight until 6am, it must have added a fortune to the overall cost. Cost rarely comes into it when its someone else paying.

It seems nowadays everyone needs big flash 250hp 50k tractors and top of the line trailers to cart silage.
Local contractor is having none of it he still runs Volvos.(y)

Pictures taken last week. They do pretty big hours too, there's also a nice F12 and some old FH's that get used on spuds. He loves his G88's though:cool:

Known as F88's in Europe with the cab steps in front of the wheels (something to do with NZ/Australian law and wheelbase), lovely old trucks.
Most had 16 speed gearbox, what there like in the wet, would be interesting?
Or do you lads do wet?

I drove one of them for a day hauling rocks out of a riverbed years ago, great fun. It was like a scene from Hell Drivers (great old movie)
Not sure about the wet (we do get some) but he takes them on some steep ground.
He runs 2 or 3 choppers and I don't think he has any tractors and silage trailers. The trucks tow trailers on long carts.

That would probably have been the issue with Gary Bartlett featured.

He was the first to pass some sort of scheme which allowed HGV drivers below the age of 21. I think he had the FL6 14 tonne gross truck at 18 years old.

I don’t think the T cab Scania will ever go anywhere else. Phillip “Winnie” Winship who drove it passed away at a young age and the truck is dedicated to him.

@miniconnect, @charcoal wally, any chance of any pictures / video of the wind turbine getting moved from Campbeltown today? I saw it was happening on Fb and that it's being filmed by the discovery channel but we don't get that!

copied the following from CS wind facebook page.
Tonight we will move 2 Middle sections to the Harbour
- these are 27 metres long and weigh about 125 tonnes each. As before, the convoy will leave CS Wind at 10pm and will take approximately 2 hours to get to the harbour.
The Ship just arrived is the specialy built ROTRA VENTE and is 142 metres long. - check out these stunning photos by Raymond Hosie Photography
Tonight the Discovery Channel will be filming too - so if you see us going by, make sure they get your good side !

If you find https://www.facebook.com/CSWindUK/? hc_ref=ARRVvEPykEHLiQEHR66OTEUXXLRZzvK44ERiypRZ97QsuFy9gYZjAZGOLf9BnCwufb8
theres loads of pictures, and some short videos, if you look further down their page theres also a bit more about the recent factory extensions.
ive not made it out to see them yet, too busy watching the back of my eyelids......

Id be surprised if there wasnt a video being put together by the above mentioned Raymond Hosie, it may appear next week or so.

google ROTRA VENTE for more pics of the boat, its quite a monster itself, i imagine theyll be wanting to build a big slipway next to save hiring cranes to load it.
