Loading Hardcore into dump trailer

Hi

Got a load of hardcore to shift 2 miles into a new yard, going to move it with dump trailers. I was going to load it up with telehandler but a mate said loading with an excavator would be a lot better? Excavator is going to be at the tipping end so would mean hiring one in, and it would have to be twice as quick to make it pay... Hardcore varies in size from bricks to quite hefty lumps.

Any thoughts?

teleHandler is fine, ideally want a stone bucket or just go easy if using grain Bucket!

I assumed he was bothered about dropping big lumps on to floor of trailer not that Telehandler wasn't up to it

if its a dump trailer it should be fine though? doubt the difference in drop height will be much between buckets if you go gentle.

No it was speed of loading I was worried about. Got a decent bucket and should be gentle!

tele will take 2-3 times longer per bucket but bucket probably 3-4 times bigger so nowt in it, if hiring a digger in id stick with the tele!

Keep the fine stuff for the bottom of the trailer each load.
