Robert Whitlock? I think might have been at Tyneside long time ago though I could be wrong. Father had a lot of this information I wasn’t really interested when he was telling me he’s not here to give me it now I’m interested
Brian Fogo, George Forbes maybe Scott Donaldson when it was ran by County Auctions who ran Wooler mart. Maybe George Potts, Colin Smith when it was part of Morpeth mart. Just a bit before my time

Don't think Scott was at Tyneside. Too young ???Thought he started at Perth, then maybe Wooler, Hexham for a while then Borderway.
When we sold at Tyneside Robert Whitelock was cattle auctioneer. Then he went to Hexham. Now manager of Hexham Racecourse - owned by Hexham Mart.
Funny, there seems to be no pics of Tyneside Mart.

I can only remember Tony at thirsk so that must be a long time ago
It was before my time as well, I was once told Peter Bell and Eric/Bill Swiers who were Thirsk directors/shareholders at the time persuaded him to leave Tyneside. That must be 40 years ago, he left in about 1992 to run that ill fated electronic auction then came back when Neil Laidlaw left

I forgot Laidlow was there for a while. I remember Chris Clubley selling pigs.

Robert Whitlock was there a long time. Used to get alot of geld cows in the Autumn, sometimes still selling to 6 pm. One of the buyers was Chapman. I think he is still buying now at Hexham. He doesnt look much different now to what he did 45 years ago. B & Q store now is it not? The old Tyneside one in the 60s was a carpark for a while down near the railway station. Think they have built the Centre for Life on it now.

Yes that’s right. It’s a B and Q now I was there years ago for something and was telling the wife and kids it used to be a mart not sure they believed me. The old one in the central station area I can’t remember anything about. Was Scott ever there? Or have I just imagined that?

Tyneside mart closed about mid 80`s, before they started building western bypass
so + 35 years ago
Think Scott is about 55
Reckon he was learning his trade under David Leggatt at Perth then
Ok I wonder where I got the idea he was at Tyneside? I can remember him coming Hexham maybe someone told me he had been at Tyneside beforehand. Maybe I’ve just imagined it
