Farming Online and the University of Liverpool are currently testing a Liver Fluke early detection App we are developing using actual on farm cases. We are finding that kill sheet data is proving useful and wondered if anyone would be willing to provide us with data such as this. Please send them to [email protected] As a thanks we are offering free blood tests for first season grazing sheep or calves.
Ideally take bloods from 10 first season grazing lambs/calves. It doesn’t matter if they are not housed yet. We can detect antibodies 2-4 weeks after infection, so it is a good indication of when infection is occurring.
All you need to do is to arrange and pay your vet to come and collect the samples and send them in to us.The actual testing would be free. Again please email if you want to take this up and we'll let you have more details
