If it was as simple as buying sheep seed there would be a lot more next year.Lamb and cull ewe prices have been excellent and so far this season they’ve been a lot easier to deal with than the arable. I say that but we haven’t actually done anything in an arable field for 5 months now. It’s the frustration that wears me out. And now about a month behind with fertiliser applications. No sprays been applied except for one dose of minerals in one Sandy field. At least costs have been low!
Farmers are been tempted to sell breeding stock for killing. Prices likely to be high for a while. I'm just going to keep 10% extra per year (breed own replacements)
