Arla don't punish for FPD, you just get less of a bonus as the constituents are lower
Without being rude that’s complete rubbish they do punish

Surely you would need to disconnect both of those not just turn them off? If the plate cooler is leaking water it wouldnt matter if its switched off as it would still be leaking water if you see what I mean?

I genuinly dont know. That distance won’t make cows thirsty on a cold April day. What are going to do on a hot august day ?
I shouldnt have to worry about cooling as I'm only milking 55 so not much milk and the bulk tank will cope with that. I dont want to fight with them either and am not going to start shouting and swearing at them as like you have said that'll get me no where. Just want to explain what I've found and see what they do with that information. I'll leave the plate cooler off after tonight's collection thenWater doesn’t run through the plate cooler unless you turn it on
I’d speak to your dairy about doing this first as milk could take longer to cool, it’s really not about fighting them and having a bad attitude they will work with you as much as they can as long as you have the right attitude towards them!
I'll try it then and see what happens. Just dont want to upset my cell count and bactoscan as they're about the only things I'm doing rightWe've got a switch to turn cluster flush on ,so leave it off it doesn't work
Plate cooler runs milk through it one way and water the other,so all I do is keep water tap closed and no water through plate cooler ,same as last 3 farms I worked on
So does that mean rapid cooling could affect it or a leaky plate cooler?I left my plate cooler of for one days milking ,had a high bacto cause the milk was cooling all day but fpd on one tank was 507 and 518 on others
Cows were in same field for the 2 days
Trouble is if I switch it off and my cell counts go up in a months time they'll be shouting at me for thatWe can only run our cluster flush on 8/16 units other wise the fpd is too low .
Couple of milking won't make much of a differenceTrouble is if I switch it off and my cell counts go up in a months time they'll be shouting at me for that
Feel like everything I do is wrong at the moment!
In my 2015 Arla contract, penalties start at <509, next step is <502, then <497, then <491, Table A Liquid milk pricing, but not on Table B Manufacturing milk pricing. Guess everyone is on a Manufacturing now. That seems like a punishment personally
Yes, and he had the same issues and tried all sorts last year.Have you asked @Friesianfan for any advice? ( I beleive he was the last tennant) Did he have similar issues?
If the cows have plenty water in the field, walking them in and milking them before they have access to water again is not a welfare issue so I would stop repeating that one.
I'll phone this week and tryCouple of milking won't make much of a difference
Can you switch everything off give Nml a ring and get them to test on that day for you
I had bacto issues so rang nml and they did a bacto breakdown on next milk sample for me
