Lower link arms postion on a trailed sprayer

What do you with the linkage Arms when the sprayer is towed on the hitch.
Leave them up and you will foul the pto shaft at some point
Leave them down and you can drag a bit of crop.

Can’t see too clear but could you put them in the top hole (if you have one) and wind them up high with the adjuster?

Dose not clear pto shaft as its a high pump
. Used to remove linkage but it's a pain if I need tractor for hay.
Just want to see what others do

You could put the balls in the Clevis jaws and then attach the vertical rods to them which will give you greater clearance with the arms up.

Pull the pin where drop arm connects lift arm and fold up, either tie with string or a couple of big cable ties

Put the pin under the arm on the drop arm instead of through the arm. NH are ok like that they won’t bend the drop arm, some tractors wil if you drop them down and lift back up.

With trailled kit As high as they go and stablisers as wide as possible or remove or as above

not advisable to move the pivot point back with a wide angle shaft. Better to get the arms up out the way

PTO’s are designed to work on the long drawbar setting. Using on pick up hitch increases the angle on the UJ

Not with a wide angle. The pivot needs be be right under the pto joint or it puts too much angle on the non wide angle sprayer end.

This is one of those circumstances where the folk on the continents have an advantage with their hitch that attaches above the PTO.

Can you get sprayer pumps powered by the hydraulics?

Very good suggestion. I have a friend who has successfully put a hyd motor on his sprayer and fertiliser spreader. Very safe.
He has a fendt and can programme the tractor to pump a constant 30 lts or whatever is needed.
I suppose you could regulate the new Holland with the twist valves on rear.

Next time you have one on tractor , check out which position closest matches the position of the UJ, pick up hitch or long drawbar

Converted mine to a hydraulic pump after bending two shafts best thing I ever did tractor run at tick over to fill and spray cost 1k to do but well worth it hate pto shafts much safer when filling uses less fuel as well and fill faster

I put the drop arm pins under the lift arms and a tennis ball in the hook ends so they don't catch hoses etc.

Remove the pins (number 19 below) from the lift arm and with longer drawbar pins & balls, attach them to the hook ends which pulls them right up. Obviously shorten the turnbuckles as much as possible. I used to do this with big square balers for the same reason as you. Takes about 2 minutes per arm to do.
