I think the main problem is, LPG isn't the most " fun " fuel too work with as the " soundness " testing is so tight and can lead to a painful time detecting a minor drop in the test procedure. The liquid phase shouldn't be a problem, just need a good Bourdon gauge and gonads to match and your away, quite a lot of bulk tanks on domestic/industrial that have to be tested and worked on that are in you Liquid phase ;)

Outside of Calor and the big boys who have lots of training money and obviously a vested interest in LPG, you will find that very few commercial RGI's have a broad enough suite of 'tickets' from Gas Safe to do a wide variety of tasks with reasonably complex LPG installations. Due to the fact that LPG is not as widespread as Natural Gas and also the fact that Gas Safe have a (deliberately) very fragmented licensing system for various modules.

I doubt it. Also if you want to save your self an absolute shed load of hassle and regulations to follow do not buy your own tank. Let Calour or flow gas or whoever own it. The. They maintain it. I hate to sound so negative about LPG because its a fantastic fuel to use but there is so much to consider in terms of health and safety to ensure you dont end up in trouble. Since the factory explosion in Glasgow HSE take an even keener interest. There is no one really telling farmers what they should be doing to be compliant though.

Fortunately it is a hell of a lot cheaper to dry with diesel!!

Had a man here last week looking at our diesel dryer as he was sick of getting LPG deliveries on time.

Must be with wrong company or disorganised then.
I know mine delivers in my area every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Started drying wheat with full tank on Monday morning and phoned that day to ask for top up on Wednesday. Came today at 4pm with tank down to 5% by then.
Will order more tomorrow for Friday and that will see me over the weekend. No reason gas deliveries should be any worse than diesel ones.

We had two deliveries from Avanti last winter, advice is to order when tank down to 40%. The first arrived 2 days after order the second took over 3 weeks, we ran out and had to go onto emergency bottle. Excuse was they only have two lorries and one had broken down.

We used to hire out an Opico on lpg, and moved it farm to farm with the gas tank bolted down on an Ivor flat with a steel roll cage round it, never had a problem back then, but not sure HSE would let it go now although it was better protected than the tankers.

It had just been filled when we left a farm where we had to go up a very steep hill. I was on the tractor with the drier and the oh was following with the gas tank trailer behind a Land Rover which was pretty gutless, I was happily bowling along when I was overtaken by a van with her waving out of the window to stop! She couldn’t get it up the hill and had waved down this random chap to get a lift to catch me up!

Old thread and off in a big of a tangent.
But does anybody know of a supplier for flexible LPG hose from tank to grain drier . Need about 13 meters.
I'm fairly sure Brian knows a supplier, I remember speaking about it to him once.

I've always had to get it replaced by my gas supplier.

I've some lovely second hand stuff in stock, only slightly used for a few years 😁

Your lucky your pipe's on the dryer and not the tank or our supplier wouldn't be happy 🤫
