Height is not everything! We have had some crop at 6 ft outyield another variety in the same field at 8 ft. The taller variety had only stem from the ground to more than 2 ft up. It's the cobs that make half the yield.First time growing maize, majority is between 5 and 6 feet now, and tasseling already. Is this early will it check the potential growth? Looks great otherwise

What variety is it? You get in those sheltered little fields that are a bit of a suntrap and it will grow over 18 inches in a week.
