Hour's on rpm clock most of time blank but when it do's appear the hour's are still going up when used,is it the clock ? or something else.......

Crikey you had your head in the sand for the past 17 years Thought every one knew manitou and JCB digital VDO hour clocks are utter sh1t

Yes its the display on the clock thats failed. i got some new later type clocks and wiring loom to make them fit if your interested? but the new clock will be on zero hours.

I got new ones that work but i'll not guarantee how long To be fair theres been a few part number changes and they did get better although i not sure they ever actually fixed the issue with them

One i look after will inform owner,as to failure this one has over 8k now and owner has never had one fail before and he's had a lot of manitiou's over the years replaced every 2.5 yrs, got an 841 which is due for change and that's just had a new wiring loom due water ingress in plug on ecu........can tell you what this did if interested........

A man who repairs clocks in Ireland for me says the clocks he repairs that are blank have not stopped working, it is just you can not read the LCD display - he can tell me what the true hours are and repair them as you wish

same guy that can fix a new clock to any hours of your choice? Someone on here is put a link up to the LED screen you can buy as a VDO part and replace your self but i dont know who that was?

On my 08 manitou it seemed to depend on outdoor temperature, during summer it was fine, most winter months it wouldn't work

Yes that's normal too. Can sometimes get them working by taking them out and leaving somewhere warm for a few days like airing cupboard but it's only a temporary fix if it works.
