That screw is to reset the automatic slack adjuster.
You only need to adjust the cable and lever on these.
If it's out of adjustment the brake discs are worn out.

Thanks ace I’ll be goin further as there was dot 4 in res and flushed lines can’t get a pedal but not loosing fluid the pre owner had fitted master cylinder when he flushed lineshad a good hand brake but he moved screws thinking it was adjustment for foot brake so slack is prob gone back so that’s as much as I was told atleast it’s only brakes on front axle ! Can those cylinders be lifted off before taking trumpet off ? Thanks again for your reply

Dot4?‍♂️

You only reset the slack adjusters when fitting new discs or resealing brake actuator.

To reset them you should turn screw driver slowly anti clock wise about 1/4 turn and at sametime next to the centre hole is a smaller hole offset. With a small drift or anything that fits in hole tap gently while turning screw anti clock wise.

Then you pump brake pedal to take out slack. They automatically adjust to take up wear so long as there not seized up.
If he turned it alot and clockwise you likely need to strip the actuators down to reposition the spring on the toothed ramp?‍♂️

Probably want resealing anyway imo

Theres no genuine seal kits for them, never have been. Only new units at around £900 each!

I supply an aftermarket seal kit for them though.

And yes just 4 cap screws hold them to axle and the lift off.

Slacken handle brake handle, adjust cable so it's just pulling actuator levers off there stops slightly, fine tune adjustment on handbrake handle by screwing the lever round.
Like I said if it dont work discs are worn out or he did manage to slacken adjusters off and now needs to pump brakes so they self adjust back.

parts and operator manuals would be, repair manual in paper form might not be so easy.
Manual wont tell you much about them brake actuators though cause there was never a seal kit for them there wasn't any point writing anything much about them other than the adjustments i said above.

All back together Lh brake sticking pedal perfect

you probably got the self adjuster spring wrong or bured the cross shaft or the bore it fits in. Unless the discs are warped or the locating dowels locking the steel disc to the axle casings are groved and making the discs bind.

Think I found my problem the brake rod on the LHs is about 3 mm longer then the rhs I’ll skim it in the morning and hopefully it’ll be ok maybe it got a 2nd piston block with a different brake rod at some stage I thought maybe one of the seals was rolling and locking after there was dot 4 in it and some stage but seems ok I really thought the seals would be a lot worse ! So went from having no brake to a locked brake !

thats weird!

only thing i can think of there is carraro made a larger version of that axle but used the same actuators, although i thought them arrow things came with new cylinders but maybe they dont. Maybe some one took a second hand cylinder off a Sanderson TL7 at some point?

i not sure it would matter though cause they do have a fair amount of adjustment?

Brakes are sorted I’d say they are worn and slack traveled to the last but that extra 2 mm was holding it ! I’ve kingpin bearings to do now on 4 wheels and 2 lh tie rod ends and seal on transfere box leaking have the other leaks sorted had to weld crack on hyd tank ?‍♂️Now have one around valve chest, those king pin bearings expensive ? Can’t find a bepco or vp number so I’ll pull them and go to local tractor garage and see thanks again for your help top man ???is it all telehanders ye do ?
