There is a way of doing it for about a quarter of the price is you buy a track rod from Vapormatic and cut 40mm off the end, but I can't remember what machine the track rod was origionaly meant for

Vap are expensive on most of there track rods! And why buy one thats wrong when there readly available elsewere?

Agreed genuine are very expensive. I did 4 perfectly good aftermarket ones for a terex for little more than the price of one genuine not so long ago! They just happened to be the same ones as a mlt 627.
