Hi my 628 has been lacking power for a while local dealer had a look when it was in getting a new pump shaft a while back.
I used to be able to work round the yard loading and moving in 3 gear mostly
Now you need to be in 2 mostly
It sometimes stalls when you work a hyd service especially if it’s in gear .
I think it’s transmission problem as if you put it in neutral engine clears and feels very responsive it also feels as if it’s top speed on the road is down
When it’s in gear engine sounds as if there’s a hyd service stuck on
This all started after forklift took a bad bounce when I hit a snow drift clearing snow
Any help appreciated

The delphi injector pumps are awful for lack of power, they still run but lack grunt.

Get the injector pump overhauled.

Now your hydraulic pump, your machine would have had a 52 series pump common for stalling engine so dealer should never have bothered fitting a new shaft in it as its a waste of time and money, a new 53 series pump is far better and when ECU is calibrated properly is much better.

How ever yes you can also get problems with the torque converters stalling out wrong and dragging engine down more than normal.

Hi thanks
It does seem to change how bad it is from day to day.
If it’s sitting in gear I wants to drive and takes a fair hill to stall the trans when at tick over is this normal if there’s torque issues
Also does seem to pull better when you get up to 16/1800 rpm but lower down just dies if you try to work service or push anything

get the injector pump done, you need to be 100% certain the engine is right first.

Also check the temp sensor for the warm up advance circuit & wiring is working properly, and the electric lift pump is actually pumping fuel under pressure (rather than just buzzing but doing nothing)

The Delphi pumps are on a downhill spiral from day one, but they need adequate fuel pressure from the tank to have half a chance

A 2002 built will have the older 1004 perky engine not the 1100 series with electric pump ;)
