Its a very basic hydraulic system.

It WILL be one of the following.

Steering ram seals (could be front or rear rams!)
Scored ram bores (not common)
Loose piston on ram rod (not common)

Steering orbital unit under the dash

The selection valve never give trouble So long as the manual selector lever for the modes is positively selecting each mode and the lever isn't loose screws were the handle attaches to the valve or a broken spring etc

It will have a single hydraulic pump with steering priority valve, This cant affect the steering alignment.

There is nothing else in the steering circuit other than a few hydraulic hoses to blow!

Thankyou, very much appreciated. Are you Happy to supply me seals etc?If so how do I get your contact details? I think the limited slip plates may be hanging on the back axle too so would probably remove axle and give it a birthday any advice or tips would be appreciated

I will PM you details.

There are no limited slip diff plates in the rear axle, only the front. Axle oil is critical on these, they are very fussy on the spec!

Hi, we’re having the same problem with our manitou 728 at the moment. Did you manage to find the cause of the problem ? No visual signs of ram seals leaking.

Will you help clear snow?
