Manitou 940 vario plus on the road

The above machine, new to us for nearly a year now. Never really taken it much further than in the yard or across the fields. Took it on a bit of a road trip yesterday and it felt like, when you get going along a bit of a smooth road let’s say, the machine seems to be surging then surging back, if that makes sense. Nothing dramatic, and anyone following wouldn’t notice. Tried using the hand throttle but this was just the same.

Is this normal ?

Yes our 741 vario does the same. I'm led to believe they have changed pump supplier or something to overcome it.

I dont really know tbh, i would say its possibly too new a model to be using the early ZF vario box? not exactly sure when they changed away from the ZF sometime around 2021 i think. The ZF boxes are prone to failing and are really expensive and thats about all i know TBH.

There might be some software update or calibrations needed that could help but you will need to speak to a main dealer about that.
