I've just been given a ram for a hydraulic head stock for my 1999 633. Has anyone got any photos of how they are mounted to the head stock, and what the brackets look like as i would like to make it fit right. Thanks.

Thus is on an mlt629,, the ram isn't bolt to anything as it has to work both ends, the only back is a stop boss to prevent it drawing right in,, the pins on each end go through the holes where the bar would have, there is a small piece that bolts onto a welded bracket which restricts the shortest length of the ram,, the oil feed is taken from the auxiliary service

IMO you were probably given it for a reason!

if the holes in the headstock are worn forget it you will break the threaded ends off the ram constantly.

I have a brand new ram here of the newer style that replaces the older ones.

You will want the special elbows with a branch off the side to do it nicely or use T pieces like in pic above but you will not be able to mount the tap on the proper bracket that way.

I know the part number for the bolt on bracket but the bit it bolts too is welded and I'm not sure of that part number although It used to be available in part of a kit, would need to get a kit part number and then a break down of whats in it which is not as easy as it sounds or should be:rolleyes:

You should also add the switch in the cab to disconnect the AUX, this when used will stop you losing the bucket by mistake unless you are still going to get in and out to turn the tap off EVERYTIME! in which case you may as well just stick with the simple locking bar that never fails.

All so need an isolator rocker switch to prevent accidentle unlatching of the pins else you may find what ever is on the headstock may quickly be on the floor or trailer bottom
