Manitou MLT 634-120 Merc engine

Hello, does any one have any cures for a MLT 634 that gets hot when doing hard work , fitted with a merc engine , radiator clean , coolant changed and flushed , new thermostat fitted , give it hard work and gauge goes up and buzzer comes on , any suggestions ? thanks

Andy be along shortly, but any manitou radiator airline clean is far from clean in my experience.

Water pump, same engine that use to be in doppstadt screeners i believe om904la and they always needed a new pump after about 6000 hours. Its wear on the impeller thats the problem, they just become inefficient

big rad on them mercs but they are the worse to clean when blocked, only way is take it out.

Check the fan speed, the fan pump likes to strip the splines off but also the fan is variable speed, just sold a flow control valve for the motor today as it happens. its the bottom valve on the fan.

i think if you unplug the solenoid on it the fan should go flat out BUT the reverse mode will then not work as you cant have it going in to reverse with a fan at full rpm! later deutz machines have an inline filter to the motor i assume to stop crap getting in the valve in the first place.
