Manitou mystery hose?

I've just taken delivery of a 2008 Manitou MLT731 in "off farm" condition, whilst pressure washing it for the 3rd time to try and get rid of the chicken poo smell, I noticed an open ended hydraulic hose near the pump, under the boom. I've traced the run of the hose and it appears to end just above the cab side of the front axle with a capped end ( there are 2 capped hoses there ). At the pump end it has a T piece fitting which seems to have been removed from the line and just left hanging.

My question is, what are the capped hoses for? And why would one be disconnected?

Everything seems to work as it should but I haven't done much with it yet.

It's one of the hoses (106) that's disconnected by removing T piece 108 or 109 from the line (bottom right). As I said, the other end of the 2 hoses are capped so I'm not too worried about it but if I knew what the 2 hoses were for, I might have to start worrying.

Thanks

It's something to do with "Balancing" or "Equillising" A Hydraulic circuit and factory fitted with a blank end on, so nothing to worry about, quite normal but strange - Ace may have a more technical answer.

As far as I can tell the other end of the pipe finishes above the front axle and can only be seen by removing the Manitou badge at the front of the chassis. I'm only guessing but I would imagine anything to do with buckets or attachments would have to be running up the boom.

Thanks for your suggestions though! It all helps!

Sorry late reply but I know the hose well its been on agri manitous with that spec hyd pump since 1999!
One is teed in to the main pressure on pump and the other is teed in to the steering supply if I remember right? Then as said run along chassis and capped off near front axle. I have never found the answer as to why manitou bother to fit them? They dont fit them on the construction model which uses same pump I dont think?
The hose has burst and someone just blanked it off done it many times myself although I pull the hose out and bin it so its not in the way for another day.

Thanks! That's the assumption that I had made but it's great to have an expert put my mind at rest!

Is it a straight forward job to remove the redundant hose? And would you remove the other one?

Thanks again!

They are easy enough to remove yes, theyres a few cable ties I think and then a couple of double hose clamps up the inside of the chassis.

I would remove them yes 2 less pipes in the way making cleaning easier and less chance of them rubbing on other hoses in the area plus will give you more room if you need to replace a different hose in that area another day. should take no more than 15 minutes or so to remove both them hoses.
