Hi all, issues with forklift when taking up drive but only when cold (forwards & reverse). Have found that by leaving it at tick over for short while it then takes up drive (increasing revs doesn’t help) & then generally ok. Any thoughts? Will change filters/oil which may help pump/torque converter

What age /engine/ transmission? - is id definitely a MC30 not a MCE30

Sounds like a shortage of oil somewhere.
Check levels and change filters

Thanks very much, just had a quick read & looks like there’s a bit of info to help. It’s odd how straight after start up it will need to be left at idle to move & then after that it works fine, maybe it is pressure related.

Wrong oil - too thick when cold, filter and suction strainer blocked - cover on side of box 2 bolts low down, pull out suction strainer to see whats in - replace oil with ATF - seems strange that works ok when warm - the opposite of a worn box - @ace will be able to guide you better - what age was the machine?

Check oil level with it running, make sure its ATF and its Red not pink or black!

Pull the suction filter out the bottom and check that, if oils good and the suction filter is clean it will be a worn pump/bad seal.
