Hi my 2004, MT732 manitou has decided to start blowing transmission fuses for fun. It initially went when changing gear up while crawling along slowly. Since then it pops everytime I try and start it. Any ideas? Dash lights up as normal but wont start.

It could be in the gear change switch, does it do it in a certain gear?

Were you using the dump button on the gear stick to change gear? cable up to switch up gear lever may be earthing at bottom of lever - @ace will be here shortly to help you - maybe Forard revese lever - thinks it is in forward or reverse so will not start

Sounds like wires coming out of the gearstick just above transmission have shorted out.

Thanks for the advise, I’ve had a quick play about with the gearstick and button and all of a sudden it stopped popping fuses, started and goes. I’m guessing my fiddling has moved something enough to stop shorting for now. I’ll investigate the gearstick cables further to check. Thanks again

Ah. I had several months of this on a 928. Tried wiring and connections, moving the solenoid by hand (which sometimes feels stiff), replaced the relay. Some of these cures worked .. for several days. Eventually ran out of patience and fuses so in desperation disconnected the reversing beeper and haven’t blown a fuse since last September. I also threatened to sell it.
