Manitou wear pads

Hi all,
How do you/can you grease the wear pads on the manitou mlt630-105 boom?
Or at least check them for wear?

Steam clean the boom off, run dry or use a graphite dry lube if you wish.

What’s the benefit of running dry?

doesnt get all dust and crap etc, plus grease drys out and makes a sticky mess. when it drys out or if people use wax oil on them it acts like a glue and often rips the pads out.

Nylon pads dont need lube, doesn't make them last any longer. Dry graphite lube is quite good though but expensive and again your only putting it on the inner extension you can see so only lubing half the pads anyway.

Nylon on polished steel is fine. if your not using it enough to keep it polished then it does need some thing on it like a dry lube cause rust against nylon isnt good either. for most users though just everyday normal use will keep the surface polished and rust free.
