Was in my local Coop petrol station/shop yesterday and was told that ASDA has bought all these stores with forecourts. How long will the Coop last as a food retailer now.

Same in Broadford in Skye apparently. Just after a major revamp of the forecourts too.

I am a supporter of the coop as their food is generally good quality even if it is at a slightly higher price. Hope when Asda take it over it's not filled with nasty ready meals and cheaper lower quality food, if I wanted that I could have gone to any of the 1/2 dozen superstores within a 10 mile radius of me.
Plus point though the fuel might be cheaper than the Texaco robbers that are on the forecourt now.

Agreed Asda meat is shite and their supermarkets are poor sad news for coop as I rate them.
