Massey 290, VIN no

Just trying to apply for a log book and although tractor is reg with dvla under its number plate they won't issue a new reg doc with out its VIN no, however plate is missing, how do you go about getting a vin? haven't long had the old girl,

Where is the VIN usually? I don't remember needing to find it when I got a new V5 for mine.
Should be on right side of dash, but that's covered up by rubber cladding on my 290 with a Sankey cab, but no plate when I had a look behind the cladding, unless they put them some were else on tractors with this cab? I can't spot it, the number plate comes up on DVLA

Definitely didn't look there. Could it be near the front grille, as I vaguely remember being in there - possibly near the battery? Will take a look at mine later and report what I can see.

Ah I'll have a look, read that thread but forgot about the number bit.

Eureka , on front of battery tray, you disserve a medal, didn't look in there as the prat of a dealer had taken the 2 lights off that were on it when bought, and for some reason only known to the brain dead twit, put a single strip Led across the front therefore stopping you opening the front grill without unbolting the light. cheers me dear.
