Massey 35 stuck in reverse.

I've a massey 35 which is used every day but every couple other month it will jam itself into reverse. Easy enough fix remove the oil filler plug and with a screw driver and push gear selector forward. Any way question is why is it happening here. Assume something is worn and needs replacing

changing the pin that holds the gearstick will help but not completly cure it

check bottom end of gear lever ,be a lot of wear ,
