Massey 6190 Steering

I have a 6190 with stiff steering.
tractor has CCLS hydraulics. High pressure filter on right hand cover and oil has been changed.
If I press the brakes the steering immediately releases and turns normally.
The clutch, 4wd, PTO, Dynashift and lift arms all work well, and getting good pressure at the spools.

I removed the spool valves on inner valve bank on right hand cover and they are moving freely.
Could the outer valve bank for trailer brake cause an issue with steering?
Any ideas welcome

I swapped a good LS Orbitrol out of a 8130 but it has made no difference.

does sound like the outer slice could be your problem but it might be something else they can be twits

Any idea what would be the affect normally if the brakes or trailer brake weren't bled properly? Could air in the system maybe mess around with the valve and cause the steering issue?

normally i would say the orbitol is the problem but you have swopped it .it looks like the outer slice that isnt demanding oil take the valves out and clean them you might get away with it

Took all the spools from both of the valve banks on the cover, all look clean and not sticking. Bled the brakes and trailer brake. Was a good bit of air in the brakes and the pedal is alot better now but no change to the steering sticking on the bugger.
Would the small aluminium manifold up under the bonnet have any influence? (Pic below).

its worth cleaning that also from what you have said its the sensing line from the steering that isnt firing the system up so the valve isnt getting a signal or something is sticking somewhere

Worked at a few of these over the years, this one is a right pig.
There is a small shuttle valve inside the port on outer valve bank where the steering LS line comes down from Orbitrol. Took that out and blew it out, seems fine.
Similar valve in the LS port which goes from top of inner block to pump controller. No issue there either.
I Can see how pulling a spool lever brings the pump on and allows steering to turn, but don’t know why pressing the brake pedal releases the steering- any ideas why that would be happening?

it opens the trailer brake valve but if there is no trailer does it shout for oil or not ? but if the steering is turning the oil will go there so the pump fires up . thats a possible cause but i could be wrong

Was starting to think the Orbitrol we put on must have a problem as no signal coming back from it, but also seems no pressure going up to it on supply pipe. I swapped the spool from the outer valve bank and top of the inner valve bank in case somebody has mixed them up before. Immediately the steering is now turning as it should so orbitrol is fine.
Only problem now is that if I press the brake pedal the steering goes stiff again. Lift, clutch and spools all ok.
Not sure which way spools should be as the top spools in inner and outer valve banks are very similar.

anyway if looks like the issue is in the valve banks on RH cover.

Would anybody on here be able to tell me which spool goes in which location on the valve blocks, or maybe have an image of one removed from before? Photos below of 2 spools
