Massey 6290 shuttle problem

We've got a 2001 Massey 6290, which has developed an issue with the shuttle. Today I noticed when working up through the ranges it would sometimes go down! I've had a look at the shuttle, there's a small pressure switch in there and I've found a company where I can get the whole shuttle for £205. But can anyone give me an idea of anything else I can check or change before I start spending? Any advice much appreciated. Thanks. Matt

Interesting thread. @dee

I had similar. Wasn’t sure of cause but did point towards shuttle lever. A smarter fellow than me found chewed wires from winter intruders. Still not completely certain it’s cured but hopeful none the less.

Thanks for your replies, I had a bit more of a look, and I stripped and cleaned up the inside of the shuttle. Not really sure what, if anything I’ve done, buts its worked fine all day today. I’ll keep an eye on it.
