seems as though something snagging at rear axle get a strong click sometimes worse when turning
Diff lock pedal linkage seized and diff lock partially engaged.
Follow the linkage from the pedal to the axle. The linkage will be seized at the rear bell crank or the arm that pushes the diff lock plunger will be seized.
thanks il check
Holy thread resurrection Batman.
Is it possible to fit the land-drive gears in an 8speed 1978 590 with live-drive PTO?
If it hasn't got ipto then it should have ground speed. We had two 565 that had it
Its deffo not IPTO, I could only find the engine speed postion on the selector quadrant, there doesn't seem to be a forwards slot for the lever to go......thinking there was an option of purely live PTO or live PTO and Ground Speed.............I will go and check again
Is the pto shaft held in with a circlip? Some were made with live drive and dual clutch with two speed pto and changeable shafts. In which case there isnt room for ground speed pto
yes, its held in with a circlip......so no chance of retro-fitting it then it seems
thanks for the reply
Depends what you want to spend. Obviously ground speed parts will fit so you could find the parts from a breaker
Well I see on ebay there's some gears just come up, but mentally thinking the job through I am guessing it involves parting out the back axle and pulling it down to almost a bare casing to get it in......but then again i have never had one of these in bits before
Yes it's quite a big job but all basic stuff
My 565 is similar and it was in bits:
PTO part pics near the end of the page. Engine PTO would be 1000 rpm after the change to that Batmobil.
Thanks for that.....great bit of text there.
.....and i think my 590 suffers the same noisy hydraulics that your did
Want to go lime spreading ?
Possibly just weighing up what we would need to do, although I reckon finding a small land-drive spreader will be the biggest problem
