Massey Ferguson Rear stud replacement

Currently in the process of restoring a massey Ferguson 135 and there is no clearance to remove the rear studs from the hub. I could cut them shorter to get them out but my worry is that ill not be able to get new studs back into the hub due to clearance. Would i have to remove the axel assembly to replace the studs or am i missing something. I had an idea to file out a ssection of the hub in order to provide clearance which would be handy for future replacement studs if need be, is this a bad idea??

I have uploaded a picture but doesnt show the clearance issue well, however i have circled the place were the stud is in contact with the hub.
