Hi I have 165 multi power with loader.
Three position selector valve
With valve set in position 1 loader works but also lift arms raise too.
I am operating as operating book
Says.
Any ideas please I wondered about seals or gasket

When you lower the loader do the lift arms go down? or is just when you stop the engine they drop? if the latter it's typical of the machine.

And if there's a weight block on the back it impossible to tow start if you've a flat battery.

It external 1 which you say you are in the link arms will raise and be topped every time you "dead end" the loader rams. This is to carry a ballast weight on the arms without them sinking. You should only be able to lower the arms by moving selector valve to the centre (linkage) position. I assume you are using the quadrant levers to work the loader in which case you need the square lever in constant pumping then up and down is controlled with the round lever, up for up, down for down and hold somewhere in between.

Hi thank you I can see the practicality of the arms for the ballast lifting . The tractor has three spool valves fitted one to raise loader one to tip and one extra. I may be misreading the owners instructions which says the linkage should be isolated when ext 1 is selected.
