Mchale Fusion 2 cut and hold problems

Latest dramas. Sometimes the cut and hold arms on the wrapper slightly damage the plastic so that when you start the next bale it just tears. I have tried sanding (the surface of the arm which holds the plastic) real smooth and it does go better but i hardly ever get thru a roll without having to get out and re attach. Woundering if i should buy 2 new arms as they are a bit pitted. or maybe take them off sand them totally smooth and re paint them with glossy paint. Anyone had this problem and fixed it??

Release the pressure from the accumulators, if there's foamy stuff coming out, that's probably your problem (and will be sorted when it comes out). Also sharpen/swap the blades on the cutters.
I don't understand how sharp blades affect starting wrapping the next bale. The plastic is held between the rubber stopper and the arm. The blade cuts it on the finished bale side of the rubber stopper. Will drain the accumulaters again but thought if they were coming right out they were ok?

Slacken the pipe coupling on the accumulator as above but only a little.theres massive preassure in there.leave it to drip out for 10 mins and it will go like a diffrent machine
Might be the problem, maybe the arms are going to fast and damages the plastic? I thought was the ruff surface on them

It's the blades that make the cut, if they aren't cutting tidily & leaves a ragged edge then not all the plastic is held within the unit. Then when you start to wrap the next bale the plastic rips off before the unit releases it & before it has caught itself enough on the bale.

Have you changed plastic at all. Once had massive issues with a mchale square bale wrapper doing similar. Turned out the wrap was £1.20 a roll cheaper for a reason!
We had problems with quality wrap this summer, one of the most expensive makes, that we've had zero problems with for the last 15 years. I don't know why, but the wrap had gone soft on the roll (so soft that you could make a permanent 5mm deep dent on the film roll by pushing it with your finger) and would snap just after the start of wrapping. Might have to change wrap make for that, since 25% of the rolls were useless during the busiest time of baling.

I bled the accumulaters and the LH side had foamy white stuff (air I guess) while the other side was straight oil. The LH side has been the side giving me grief so maybe thats the problem(I watch it in the camera). I also took the arms off and resanded them and painted them also the runners were full of crap, its also getting new knives. So if it works well I wont know what fixed it but I suspect those accumulaters. How does that air get in their? should I replace the LH one?

If it doesn't happen occassionally then i'd say there's no need to replace it. We bled ours last time in the summer of 2016 at 12k bales and it hasn't bothered us since. (y)

I bought a used fusion and had to bleed accumulators twice during season.the dealer reckons a change or diffrent make of tractor sometimes seems to be the cause but others who run from new on the same tractor never give any problems.must be to do with oil flow preassures or somthing like that

Does someone know other solitions? These days with high temperatures the film tears off almost every bale, tried everything mentioned above. We have cleaned the surface with sanding paper 120 what was recommended by our dealer. Bled both accumulators and cilinders from air. Installed new sharp blades. Checked all the bearings in the dispenser units. Tried different brands of film.

But nothing seems to fix te problem, after cleaning the surface of the Rams it sometimes works for 20 bales but sometimes only 2. Any tips we could try to get it to work? The problem is every time with starting up, when it turns it’s doing fine. The film damages with the retracting of the rams.

Kind regards, a fusion 2 user.
