I have the chance to buy a v660. It’s 2011 so an early one. 30k bales. Will be used only in straw. I’m wondering if anything changed from 2011 to now that should make me try and find a newer model or is this ok ? Dealer looking £15k
Many thanks

The net wrap system changed around 2011, i had 1 of first with new type and it wasn't very good for a start. They modified it and sorted it out.

Old system was copy of claas with lots of bars, but think they came after them because of patents!

We have the older v660, done 25k. Absolutely no issues to mention. Ours got the "modification" after purchase where mchale came and welded thin rods to 4 of the rollers, to decrease the gap between them (bad design initially, bales wouldn't form in Hay), we've actually cut off 1 of the rods since because over time the roller sync changes and the rods were banging into each other but removing that certain one fixed it.

Makes a beast of a bale in grass, straw is about as good as anything else I've seen, even this year when the straw so ridiculously thick and dry.

We have one of that age with about 50k bales on it. Confident it will do many more.
Watch the bale count as there was a software upgrade that wiped the machine total.
They do age really well, ours would pass for a 2 yr old one.
We have worn through one of the feed rollers and the net spreading bar needs welded.
Many users wish they still made them like the original ones!

We had an early one did about 28k with it and was very reliable , better than the newer one we now run! . Had a couple of the big tension springs and door latch springs and that was it !! . I did the pickup cam barings as a precaution . Net system was a little troublesome if driving into a strong wind just had to reverse at an angle and was ok .
