Measuring track width for ploughing.

Is it wheel rim edges, bulging bit of tyre or tread lugs you measure from. Track difference is close to zero just now across tread lugs but have 2.5cm spacers on rear that could be removed to increase front width relative a bit, 4f reversible. Thanks.

Inside the tyre bulge but not at floor level and the front should be the same, so the center of the fronts tyres will be less than the rear as they are narrower.. a least dowdeswell always used that system, so the tractor run dead straight with front and rear tyres rubbing the furrow wall the same.

PS some tractor wheel setting wont let you get this exact, so the fronts a little wider is acceptable.
