So my daughter came back today from secondary school to tell me her food technology teacher told them they should have meat free mondays to protect the environment as cows are killing the planet and you can get protein other places,

Shown a video too which also claims that spring water is just the same as that out of a tap, i worked in water treatment and i can tell you its not, i have a spring at home and there no acids, limes or coagulants added to that to make it safe...oh and it does not need bombarding with ozone either to make it clean.

Has anyone got a link to that handout some one made, ive searched but must be using the wrong criteria,

also a good article on livestock vs mass grown soy and the associated chemicals and their impact would be good to take in as im furious

WTF is the world coming to...

Me thinks the world is coming to an end but it's no fault of the bloody cows though!

Meat free Mondays was a marketing ploy to promote Linda McCartney-type meat substitute products (soya, iirc) by anti-meat campaigners. The publicity was based on the discredited bad science that came from the 1990s, so the teacher is way out of order in teaching about it now.

As for the water ...

You first point out that it is nonsense to suggest there is a link between meat eating and environmental problems but then go on to say that spring water is superior to what comes out of the tap?
