MEDIA REQUEST: Farmers Impacted by Rural Crime Wanted!

Hi Everyone,

I'm working on a media investigation right now looking at the rise in rural crime, its effect on farmers, and whether authorities like the police have offered adequate support following incidents. Having seen my family's farm and many neighbours targeted recently, I know just how important an issue this is for many of you while many outside the industry know little about its scale.

I would love to speak to some farmers who have been impacted in recent years by rural crime in any form who are willing to tell their story. The investigation is largely focused on Scotland but I would like to bring in views from across the UK as well.

Likewise, if you know anyone in the wider agricultural (or anti-crime) industry who could have some good stories then it would be great if you could pass this thread on.

It's important to say right now that getting in contact would not commit you to speak publicly. Indeed, I am keen to listen to a variety of views to help build the story's angle and there are options of anonymity in some circumstances. **Please note though that I can't publish information relating to an incident that is part of an active police investigation**.

If you would be keen to contribute or want more information, then please email me at [email protected]. You can also message me privately here.

Many thanks,
Ruairidh
