Anyone running one?my disco is due to be changed but not keen on the look of the new one, need something capable of towing 3.5t and usable as family car if needed,Merc looks like it may fit the bill but I doubt it will be anywhere near as capable as my current disco is,any other suggestions,no pick ups though.

What do you use the Discovery for?

We've had RR Sport, Disco (new shape) and now XC90 over the last few years, and to be honest the Disco has been the best overall.

Nothing in class will touch it for off-road capability, and it's as good as any of the others for load-hauling.

We've just ordered an Audi Q7 as a replacement for theXC90, but not sure if it'll tow a full 3.5t.

Current disco4 is my farm vehicle, tows 16ft trailer most weeks, also ferries the kids about when needed, not too blingy but respectable. If you still got the disco 4 I wouldn't be looking at anything else but as said not keen on the arse of the new disco or the price for the 3.0l !!!

Someone I spoke to who does a lot of towing said the disco 4 is far better than the 5 as the new one is too light to master a laden trailer properly at speed.
