Mercedes X-Class Pickup Drive

Personally I would expect a Mercedes to hold value better than a Nissan if history re these brands is anything to go buy. Illogical I know but that's the power of brands fo you !

so even if the Merc costs more new to buy it may be the cheaper option to own

speculation of course and only time will tell

Mercedes percentages of retained value at three years are average and seldom better than average for the vast majority of their vehicles. Just look at What Car or something for a guide to see that the Mercedes brand is generally nothing special in this regard.

50% or more of leased cars out there are diesel for a start. The used market for small to medium diesels is falling off a cliff, just as the new market is. That was not foreseen.

But the fact is 30% of GM 's profit last.. or previous year was due to hired cars making more than budget at auction.. it was a profit warning type bulletin that said it could go the other way fast... obviously

GM made a profit? Really? They no longer exist in any form in Europe or Australia as a result of their losses.

For those that are wondering about the price.

Don't know anything about specs etc but found this one advertised while looking for a replacement pickup for myself the other day.

https://www.murisoncommercials.co.uk/vehicle-details/Mercedes-Benz-X-Class-U157270

No idea if that's cheap or expensive for what it is.
desisions, i need a new truck, should i get a new merc, or slum it with a navara and change it every 2 years for new for the next 10 years.
and probably save a bob or two

No way in hell I'd ever be paying that sort of money for a truck,!
I'm in the used truck market with a price more than £20k less than that, which is more than enough to carry crap about and round up cows.
Good luck to those who can justify new trucks though as it helps folk like me when they come on to the used market eventually.

@fermerboy , please don’t go for the poofter looking Merc that you have put in the link!!! Save your money so that you can buy our Defender replacement once we are done with it in 10 years time!

Ok, much to the dismay of mr duck, I’ve just ordered an x class v6 in CH, starting April 19. It was close to the anorak but as it was same price it was no contest! So in 6 months I’ll let you all know if the rear suspension is sh!t after all
The V6 is in a class of two and you have probably bought the right one. It has a transfer box with two speeds which the Amarok does not have.
I can't remember whether it has the 7G-Tronic or the 9G-Tronic, but either is good while the 9 is best.

I look forward to your review and many YouTube reviews of the V6.
