Has anyone had this happen to the screen in a 2014 Merlo 40.7 5500hrs. No information in the screen just CAL and boom lowers very slowly ie 2 minute cycle times. Looks to me like a broken wire or switch hopefully nothing worse.

There is a retractable string in boom for telling computer how far out boom is , I would think the string has broken and it will cost a small fortune for new one iirc £700

Thanks for the reply, sounds something that I would have liked the reply but the projected cost upset me?. Will find out in the morning. Nothing is simple when it breaks anymore..

Cheers BB

Hi Guys,
My 2015 Merlo 55.9 has the same issue. Fishing line not broken in boom so think it’s a wiring fault. Merlo UK replaced the loom last year, left it a right mess!
Did you have any luck? @beltbreaker
