Merlo hydraulic pump

Does anybody know where I can get a spring to operate the swash plate on the hydraulic pump on a merlo 40.7 and the pump is a casappa. Just wondering if anybody knows before I have to buy a new pump. Thanks.

Thanks Mr happy. A new pump off merlo is about £2200.

It's a 2013 machine but we have found the problem it's a broken spring in the Hyd pump just trying to see if I can find anywhere to get the spring.

I would say it depends on hours etc what kind of contribution if any? if its a hard working machine it could have an hour or two on it.

It could have, but it's a poor do when things fail just out of warranty, then parts are ridiculously over priced.

I wonder how much Merlo pay casappa for the pumps?

Can you post a photo of the spring and where it goes, there is a pump in the workshop that I'll check the spring for you

It's out of warranty by a year and it is only on about 1300 hours. Merlo can't get parts for the pump only the pump itself so I am trying to sort first before I go back to them as that may be quicker. I will try and get some more photos but we have managed to get it going for now. Thanks for your help.

2013 machine, 2 year warranty?

In the short term, have you tried calling Casapa directly? Hopefully the spring is not unique to that model of pump and might be easier to source. Sounds like the UK Casapa importer has thrown it in the too hard basket / it could be a copywritten part.

In the long term, I'd be having words with Merlo. £2200 for a brand new pump is excessive for a barely run in machine. It's a manufacturing defect and given they can't/won't supply the spring should stand some of that cost.

This thread alone should be shame them into action.
