Where do you get transparent paint from?
they don't rustNeed something that I can put on an axe head to stop it rusting.
For a little project I've got on at the moment.
Not sure if this is in the right place but I'm doing it in the workshop
why does it need to be transparent ?
But transparent paint s called clear coat if you do need transparent
Because I want it to stay shiny when it's hung on the wall.

had some brass done few years with some clear coat stuff. don't know the name of it tho was very good. and clear. some. other stuff can. be a bit cloudy

I'd go with a neutral wax - lacquer or clear coat just looks wrong. That said, I have never seen a proper axe head rust unless it was left in a puddle of water.
Every chance. I reckon it's older than I am. Been knocking around the workshop for years. But I think it will look good once I've fixed it up.

If you lacquer it make sure you do it somewhere warm - it ends up cloudy in a cold environment.
Paraloid B72™ is commonly used by conservators as both a coating and an adhesive, because it has good long-term aging properties and can be easily removed if needed.
Paraloid B72™ can be purchased as pellets to be mixed with acetone, or as a pre-mixed solution which can be diluted with acetone for coating.
It can also be purchased in a tube for use as an adhesive.
