MF 290 Loader Problem

that ram is piped into outlet 1 and 2. swap those 2 pipes over and try again. the lever will work the opposite way but if it dosent creep you have a faulty oring on you single/double acting tap or the tap isnt tightened right up it the knob below the spool lever
Believe it or not, I've just done this then sat down to update everyone and read your post!

I uncoupled both pipes and it didn't creep so on earlier advice, I deduced it was the spool valve. Even though I didn't know what it was for, I tightened the knob under the lever and it got better (was at 1.5 turns open) but it still crept.

Then I just thought I'd try swapping them round. I remember when I first got the tractor, the couplers were leaking and the guy I bought it from swapped them which stopped it. I think they were working the wrong way after that. Up tipped and down lifted. After I swapped them back today there was a slight leak on one pipe but I cable tied the pipes together and it stopped.

So the problem seems to have gone and I'll just have to get used to it being the other way around, even though it's probably the correct way!

Should those taps be closed? The lift was at 3/4 open and I've set the tip to the same.

Thanks very much to everyone for their help.

agri max is correct lift should be screwed out (single acting) and bucket (crowd/dump) should be fully screwed in.
if you unscrew the complete tap assembly from the spool valve you will find an oring has come off its seating groove meaning that even with the tap fully in you will still have a slight leak. fit a new oring and screw fully in then you can swap your pipes back the way they were.

Thanks @agrimax and @MF-ANDY. Will set them like this before I use it again.

@MF-ANDY If it's working, and probably the correct way round now, do I really need to change the o-ring? Does it not just mean that the tipper won't pull up as well? Not sure it will be an issue. Did a few lifts and tips with a big concrete counter weight today and it seemed ok. If I do need to change the o-ring, how easy is it? Do I need to remove the whole assembly and strip it? I'm sure you're familiar with it but here's a photo:

If you're happy leave well alone if not follow the knob thro the panel to the 15/16" part screwed into the front of the spool. Unscrew it. New oring. Screw back in. Job done
